This weeks episode features a script written in 1980 dubbed, "The greatest Sci-Fi script never made." The host Jeremy Meyer sits down with returning guest Maggie Geimer to find out if this claim holds true. Brought crashing to the ground by a series of behind the scenes infighiting, The Tourist still sits on a shelf to this day with no signs of ever being filmed.

Logline: Grace Ripley, a beautiful corporate executive who happens to be an alien in disguise, seeks a way to get back to her home planet while being drawn into the bizarre world.

This episode is a special treat. Guillermo Del Toro's script for At The Mountains of Madness is a wonderfully written horror adventure that must be discussed, so the host Jeremy Meyer sat down with returning guest Eric Ziselman to break down a movie that could have been. Put on hold due to the release of Prometheus Guillermo Del Toro felt they were too similar and set his passion project aside but what Jeremy and Eric find is a wonderful read that is worth hearing out.

Writers: Guillermo Del Toro and Matthew Robbins.

Logline: In the 1930's an expedition to Antarctica goes awry when the team stumbles upon an ancient mystery lost to time.

There may be no longer running film franchise than James Bond. James Bond has been a mainstay in films since 1962 and shows no signs of disappearing. It's not hard to believe that there aren't a couple un-produced Bond scripts and we finally tracked one down! James Bond of the Secret Service is the script that eventually became Never Say Never again, which is a remake of the MGM James Bond film Thunderball. This film has a history of it's own that is worth diving in to but for now we are just looking at this early early draft of the film.

LogLine: James Bond has to deal with the villainous organization SPECTRE as they attempt to blackmail the word for control of the Earth's oceans.

Writers: Kevin McClory, Sean Connery, Len Deighton

Well this is the first Black List script to make it onto Shelved. The Black List is a list of scripts circulating Hollywood that have high praise or are highly sought out. Ares is an interesting Sci-Fi script that feels like The Bourne Identity meets The Martian.

Written by Andrew Kevin Walker who also wrote the Spider-Man script we looked at, X-Men was another Walker script that was shopped around in the early 90's. Originally tapped for James Cameron,  he eventually chose Spider-Man as his project and neither ended up coming to fruition. This script is very different from the X-Men movie we got in the early 2000s but is quite an interesting take on the franchise. You can find the script on our tumblr www.shelvedfilmpodcast.tumblr.com. You can follow the show on Twitter @shelvedpodcast. Who knew that Rob Zombie had once written a sequel to the Crow franchise. A sequel or a reboot? It's hard to tell but regardless this was a fascinating read! Another previous guest Vinny Malave (Resident Evil episode) returns to discuss Rob Zombie's insane and awesome version of the famed franchise in this screenplay for the Crow 2037. As always you can find out scripts on www.shelvedfilmpodcast.tumblr.com. You can follow the show on Twitter @shelvedpodcast. Well this week is a special one. We have a new Spider-Man movie coming this year and as he is my all time favorite superhero I decided to look at one of the few Spider-Man scripts that existed before the 2002 movie. Eric Zisleman returns to discuss his second picked comic book character on the show as we discuss the 1993 draft of Spider-Man by David Koepp. As always you can follow the show on Twitter @shelved. So today's Mini episode is the start of something new. My wife Amanda is coming on as a permanent co-host for the mini episodes. Amanda is an outsider to the movie world. She's not a movie fanatic she only married one. So now the mini episodes will all feature a conversation with the two of us as we attempt to make sense of each other and learn about what the other loves to watch. We will also review any new movies or television that we happen to watch. As always you can find the script for Friday's episodes on the tumblr www.shelvedfilmpodcast.tumblr.com and follow us on Twitter @shelvedpodcast. If you want to email the show you can find us at shelvedfilmpodcast@gmail.com.

In 2009 Dragon Ball Evolution was barfed into cinemas to a much maligned response. It threw away everything that everyone knew and loved about the show and instead presented the most bare bones and boring interpretation of the classic anime/manga. Well little did we know the script to the movie was actually much close to the source material so I brought in my buddy and fellow Dragon Ball fanatic Nick Almendarez, professional wrestler and founder of Freelance Wrestling in Chicago, do discuss the Dragon Ball movie that could have been. Feb 7, 2017

Well first I'd like to apologize for dropping this episode a day late as I've been terribly sick. This week Jeremy says the correct email address for the first time as he gathers with his fellow Star Wars geek Maggie to discuss George Lucas’s original rough draft for The Star Wars. This is quite an interesting read that is a must for any Star Wars fan that may have heard the stories but doesn’t know the details. Jeremy and Maggie dive deep into the mind of George Lucas and try to figure out how George Lucas went from this draft, to the Star Wars trilogy we all know and love today. Jan 27, 2017

Well we made it to a second episode! It's officially a podcast. This episode is timed with the release of the new Resident Evil movie in theaters. Resident Evil The Final Chapter. A film series that has spanned 14 years and made hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide, but has always been met with tepid response. Before the series launched, George Romero, the zombie king, turned in a draft to Capcom in 1998 that they then shot down. I sat down with my horror obsessed friend Vinny Malave to discuss this rejected take on the classic franchise. As always you can follow us on social media. Twitter: @shelvedpodcast or you can email us at shelvedfilmpodcast@gmail.com. You can also follow Vinny’s horror themed clothing line on Instagram at thecrypticcloset or go to www.thecrypticcloset.com.
